Columbia Video Network (CVN) is the Graduate Distance Learning from Columbia University's School of
Engineering and Applied Science. CVN's Graduate Degree Programs are fully accredited by the Commission of
Higher Education, a unit of The Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools. All of CVN's Graduate
Degrees are granted by Columbia University, and these degrees are identical to, and indistinguishable from
those earned by students on-campus at Columbia University.
ABOUT CVN
CVN has been leading the field of distance learning since its' inception
in 1986, enabling thousands of working professionals and remotely located
students to pursue their degrees without any residency requirements on the
campus in New York. CVN's degree programs have been rated as "Best of the Web"
in the category of Higher Education by Forbes Magazine. To view the complete
Forbes review, please visit the following link:

In order to allow you to "meet" some of your fellow CVN students, CVN has
created an interview series where some CVN students discuss their experiences
on CVN. Please feel free to view these short video clips, using Windows Media
Player, available here.
HOW CVN WORKS
Classes available through CVN are taught on campus in New York
City by Columbia University's faculty members. Faculty and students
meet on campus in specially equipped classrooms, and the classes
are recorded and made available electronically to registered CVN students
via online streaming media or via downloadable lectures. To view a sample
of CVN's online courses, please visit the link below:

CVN students take the same classes, have the same homework
assignments, and take the same exams as their on-campus
counterparts. The only difference is in location. CVN
students can earn the same degree as on-campus students: a Master
of Science (MS) or Professional Degree (PD) from Columbia
University's School of Engineering and Applied Science.
