The Certification Program in Business and Technology is designed to provide students with an understanding of contemporary technology and management. It is for students who are interested in a technical-management background rather than one in a traditional engineering field. It consists of courses intended to provide a foundation for dealing with engineering and management systems problems.

"Columbia Video Network (CVN) has provided me with a most diverse means of pursuing my dream of an advanced education in electrical engineering. The CVN-derived distance learning option not only enables me to balance my full-time work with my personal goal to receive a technical degree, but ultimately makes it possible to earn the same prestigious Columbia University degree as on-campus students. It is of no surprise that Columbia University, one of the world's foremost research institutions, would commission and promote CVN to lead the way in the development and utilization of cutting edge video-conferencing and web based communications techniques, which, I believe, result in the most comprehensive distance learning experience available, anywhere. CVNs dedication to optimize the educational process is certainly a tribute to the high standards set by Columbia University. And it goes without saying, that CVN personal are as professionally helpful, courteous, and responsive, as anyone can be."
